job hunt

Junior Level Web Developer, Ciber, INC. - looking for someone with ASP, Javascript, CSS, html, photoshop, and java skills. I fit this one perfectly. Must remember to call them back next week. I found it on monster.com searching for "junior, 'entry level'"

Morgan Stanley, Analyst/Jr Associate Application - they were at the career fair and I gave them a resume, but this is a follow up so that maybe (doubtful) I'll have a better chance. They have a nice career training program that lasts 18 weeks. Only problem is that it's in New York City.

NJM Insurance - My Aunt just got a job there and she submitted a resume for me, which was passed along to IT. That was sunday, it was passed along monday or tuesday and now I'm waiting, as usual. Perhaps I should call them too.

In other news, I really need to get a job so I can get medical and dental. I need a perscription filled and I need to get my cavities filled. ouch.

Career Fair

I went to the Comp. Sci. and engineer career fair today at rutgers. It went better than last year because I have the two summer projects on my resume. Unisys was the best by far, because I went behind the display to sit down and talk to the guy, but they aren't hiring until january '05.

a new start

Ok, I think I'm going to start posting the jobs I've applied to here. Just as a sort of history. Also, I think I'm going to go ahead and post my program Ideas here too, again as a history and so I don't forget.
Today I looked through the upcoming Comp Sci career fair at Rutgers and visited and applied to the following:
Raytheon - Software Engineer I
Vanguard - General resume submition
Unisys - No jobs but created a search bot

After this I'm going to monstertrak and seeing whats up there.
In the program field, I'd still like to try the following:
1. A program that interacts through AIM with the modem to place calls using text-to-speech and speech recongnition. I found some smaller programs that each do one part, I need to just get them all together. http://webreference.com/perl/tutorial/13/5.html
http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/projects/festival/userin.html
I plan on doing this one with linux.
2. Creating a blog website on , uh .. well now I can't find the website in my favorites, but I think it was something like myJavaServer.com or something. Anyway, the point is to use jsp's and the database they have there to host my ideas and to hold a xml/xslt version of my job applications.
3. A site scrapper for monstertrak.com, monster.com, etc..
